While we wait…

No news on Sonorasaurus Rex 2.0 being approved yet, but I thought this mix warranted its own post. It’s a good mix of styles and tempos and has been on repeat play for the past few days.

Check it out if you are into downbeat, disco, dub tinged beats and melodies:

Sonorasaurus Rex turns 2.0

Our work and feature list on Sonorasaurus Rex 1.2 has expanded to the point where it does not feel like it is a simple update. Instead we have decided to deem the next version 2.0. It has been submitted to Apple today.

Some of the features were mentioned in the previous post, but here is the full list of what will be coming in this next update:

• A redesigned music library interface that brings in expanded sorting options like displaying by Artist, Song Title or BPM. Playlist creation and management has also been added. Now you can organize your music further and prep sets in advance.

• A batch waveform processing utility has been added to the music library. This way you can create all your waveforms at the same time after syncing new tracks to the library.

• A Latency Priority Mode option has been added. Engaging this will allow you to load tracks completely, eliminating the buffer and decreasing latency, instead of streaming them. While this feature does increase load times, it will give certain deejays better response times when engaging in more active mixing or cueing.

• The visual waveform are now touch sensitive. This will allow for more accurate scrubbing and finding and setting cue points will be significantly more accurate.

• In addition to the main cue point 3 additional hot cues have been added, giving a total option of 4 points that a user can set in a track. The main cue will still function as normal, allowing you to snap back to a specific position and pausing the track. The 3 hot cues will allow you to jump around and instantly play the song from the desired point.

• A tutorial has been included to familiarize users with the basics of Sonorasaurus Rex’s interface.

• Further performance tweaks and optimizations have been done across the board.

Thanks Everyone!

We wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who has supported us so far. Receiving your feedback and having discussions on ideas has been a great motivating factor as we continue to move forward. It has not been easy at times given the different types of hurdles we have had with restrictions, review processes and piracy but you have made it worth while.

Aside from the encouragement and support we could also use your help. If you could take a moment to give us a rating, write a review or spread the word to friends it would mean a lot to us.
After all we are a very small team and every little bit helps.

Also we are having a special weekend sale for Sonorasaurus and Sonorasaurus Rex until Sunday. Check them out if you have not already!

Thanks again everyone!

Adding Music in Rex 1.1

Thanks to MGUniverse we now have a quick tutorial video that explains how to add songs through iTunes File Sharing.

Just to be clear we should repeat that 1.1 now gives users the ability to batch upload their songs through the use of iTunes File Sharing. The transfer is also a lot quicker.
We have kept the option to add over WiFi just in case people don’t have access to iTunes and still want to add songs.
